PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz senior vice president Amir Muqam has asked Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan not to pressure the Supreme Court in the Panama leaks case by spreading false propaganda and said his party would accept the court’s decision.

He was addressing a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Thursday, where Insaf Lawyers Forum Peshawar district president Hidayatullah Khan along with other office-bearers announced the joining of the PML-N Lawyers’ Wing.

Mr Muqam said his party was confident that the Supreme Court’s verdict in the Panama papers case would be ‘based on justice’.

He said the PTI was conducting media trial of the PML-N on the issue.

Muqam says people leaving PTI to join PML-N over poor performance in KP

Accompanied by PML-N Lawyers Wing leaders Alamzeb Khan, Malik Jahanzeb and Subhan Khan, the PML-N leader said more and more people were leaving the PTI to join his party over the former’s poor performance in KP.

He said PTI chief Imran Khan had promised to change the fate of the people in KP but his capability and honesty was exposed by the bad governance of his party in the province.

Mr Muqam said the PTI chief was using the Panama leaks case to gain cheap popularity.

He said everybody knew that Imran Khan was the pioneer of offshore companies and that he, too, had admitted it, but he was currently leveling false allegations against the prime minister in that respect.

The PML-N leader said the PTI and its leader were the main hurdle to the country’s development and progress.

He said the federal government had made serious efforts to fight terrorism and steer the country out of crises.

Mr Muqam also criticised Imran Khan for using the word ‘phateechar’ (useless) for the foreigners playing the Pakistan Super League final and said such remarks went against the national interest.

He said the PTI government had failed to bring real change in the people’s life during the last four years and therefore, its workers and sympathisers were parting ways with it.

The PML-N leader said the PTI chief opposed the Metro Bus Project in Punjab but ironically, his party’s government was seeking foreign loans to execute the same in Peshawar exposing the ruling party’s double standard.

Earlier, Hayatullah Khan said the people had voted the PTI to power for change in their life but that hadn’t happened yet.

He said PTI chief Imran Khan remained busy staging ‘sit-ins’ against the federal government during the last four years.

The lawyer leader claimed that the PML-N would bring a real change in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after sweeping the next elections.
