PTCL, Army to clash in final

KARACHI, July 25: PTCL came from 1-0 down to outplay Habib Bank 2-1 to reach the final of the All-Pakistan PTCL floodlit football tournament in Bahawalpur on Thursday.

According to information on Friday, Jawaid Ali earned the lead for bankers with a free kick in the fifth minute of the game.

PTCL’s Burhanuddin capitalised on a goalkeeping lapse by Mohammad Shahzad to equalise in the 62nd minute. Yasir Ali slammed home a Shahid Ahmad pass off a rebound from Shahzad in the 75th minute to give his side a deserved win.

Pakistan Army also marched into the final after a 2-0 victory over Bahawalpur in the second semifinal.

After a barren first half, Faizullah broke the ice in the 65th minute when he headed home a corner, while Yasir Ali made it 2-0 later after individual effort.
