HYDERABD: The seven-day annual flower show organised by the Cantonment Board Hyderabad (CBH) got under way at Ziauddin Park, next to the old Eidgah ground, Saddar, on Friday.

CBH president Brigadier Raja Mohammad Ijaz Azmat inaugurated the show featuring a gardening competition and children’s festival.

The event drew large crowds, mainly families. Men, women and children from all walks of life were seen enjoying and taking keen interest in a big variety of flowers nicely arranged and displayed in different formats across the park.

Representatives of different organisations including the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry attended the opening ceremony. Children thronged the ‘playland’ set up on the sidelines of the park. Teenage visitors were seen taking selfies and group photos with colourful background.
