PESHAWAR, July 24: The local police on Wednesday busted a gang of traffickers in women, arrested its two members and recovered an abducted girl from their possession.

The arrested persons are brothers and are identified as Nadeem and Pardes sons of Rasheed resident of Khazana village.

The police claimed that the gang members used to either abduct or lure young girls and sold them in other parts of the country.

The girl recovered from their possession, Ms Nazo, said that she was abducted along with her sister, Faryal, who later on disappeared.

She claimed that the gang members had told her that they had married Faryal to somebody, but she was not aware whether she was sold out or married.

The police claimed that they had information that a gang of traffickers had been operating in Faqirabad area of the provincial capital. They also had information about abduction of two sisters from Khwazakhela, Swat, and their presence at the said residence in Faqirabad.

A police party headed by ASP, Jaffar Khan and SHO Faqirabad police station, Abdul Malik Khan, raided the premises and arrested Nadeem and Pardes. The girl, Ms Nazo, was also recovered during the raid.

Ms Nazo alleged that she was repeatedly raped by Nadeem during captivity. The police claimed that the arrested persons had also named some other members of the gang and more arrests were expected with in next few days.
