Farooq Zameer, alas!

Renowned television actor Farooq Zameer, who passed away on Feb 23 at the age of 72, was one of the finest actors of his generation, known for his understated, well thought-out performances. He worked in several TV serials and long-plays, including Kaghaz Ki Nao, Suragh-i-Zindagi and Gurriya. In 2001, he was given the President’s Pride of Performance award. His death has saddened the showbiz fraternity of the country, especially artists of his generation. May he rest in peace.
