A Pakistan Army soldier was injured in cross-border firing from Afghanistan on Sunday, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The incident took place in the Mangrotai area of South Waziristan Agency. added the statement from the military's media wing.

The injured soldier was airlifted to a medical facility at Wana.

"Pakistan army troops effectively responded to suspected terrorists hideouts on Pak-Afg border."

Earlier, the government had decided to seal the Torkham border crossing with Afghanistan for an indefinite period following a spree of terror attacks.

The Pakistan Army launched Operation Raddul Fasaad and targeted suspected terrorists hideouts on the Pak-Afghan border.

Pakistan had also handed over a list of 76 "most wanted" terrorists to Afghan authorities. Army chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa had called Gen John Nicholson, commander of the US's Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan, to protest continued acts of terrorism in Pakistan perpetrated from Afghanistan.
