KARACHI: The 16th National Men and Women Netball Championship 2017 will commence at the Hamidi Hall, PSB Sports Complex, Islamabad from March 13, President Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF), Mudassar Arain announced here on Saturday.

The netball championship will be held in collaboration with Pakistan Sports Board (PSB).

All affiliated units including Pakistan Army, Wapda, Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Railways, Pakistan Police, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Sindh, Punjab, KPK, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan, Islamabad, FATA and AJK will take part in the mega event.

Pakistan Army is the current national champion for the men’s event while Sindh are the national champions for women’s event and will defend their titles. In this championship, the top five teams in both men and women categories will be able to qualify for the National Games 2017 scheduled to be held in Quetta. During the championship, the PNF will also select the national junior girls netball team for participation in the Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship which is set to held in Korea from May 6-13 this year.
