NBP triumph in exciting finish

RAWALPINDI, Dec 28: National Bank scraped to an exciting one-wicket victory over Allied Bank on Sunday in a Patron’s Cup match at KRL Stadium, opener Imran Javed striking a useful 94.

After Allied Bank, asked to bat first, had hit up 266 for nine off their 50 overs, National Bank barely managed to overhaul that total in the last over scoring 270 with two balls to spare.

Imran was the chief scorer and had he not made such a significant contribution, National Bank could have been in deep trouble. His innings had eight fours and a six.

Earlier, Wajahatullah Wasti hit 80 for Allied Banks while Ijaz Ahmed Jr made 51.
