QUETTA, Jan 2: Balochistan Jamaat-i-Islami chief Maulana Abdul Haq Baloch was released on bail from the district jail on Wednesday.

The local administration arrested him on the charge of delivering an objectionable speech against the military government during a public meeting held last month to protest against the US bombing on Afghanistan.

The JI leader filed a bail application in district and session court. Justice Mohammad Akbar Khan Achakzai on Tuesday accepted the plea and ordered his release.

However, he could not be released on Tuesday for not completing some formalities.
