LAHORE, Dec 27: Turkish football club Besiktas have asked Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) to revise the date for their match against Pakistan.
Besiktas were scheduled to play Pakistan on Jan 8 in Islamabad on an invitation by the President Pervez Musharraf.
A PFF official said the change in Besiktas’ instance was not because of recent suicide bomb attack on the President.
He said the tour of the club was already in doldrums as the PFF had received a message from Turkey last week, stating “they may come.”
The official said AFC president Mohammed bin Hammam was expected to visit Pakistan in the second week of January on the occasion of ground-breaking ceremony of FIFA’s Goal Project in Lahore.
He claimed that Punjab chief minister had allotted the land for the Goal to PFF in Nishter Park.
