Published December 28, 2003

RIYADH, Dec 27: A number of Saudi Arabia’s women intellectuals and academics are participating in the second forum for national dialogue, which went underway in Makkah on Saturday.

The title of the moot is “Extremism and moderation - a comprehensive and methodological view”’.

The forum is being organized by the King Abdul Aziz Centre for National Dialogue.

Crown Prince Abdullah has been encouraging such platforms to discuss problems faced by Saudi society.

Faisal Al Muammar, Secretary General of the centre, confirmed to the press that women would take part in the deliberations, saying the group had already taken a decision to invite women to the meeting.

Al Muammar further said discussion was continuing on the way this participation could be achieved.
