KARACHI, Dec 27: Four ships carrying steel coils, containers and general cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was active owing to steady arrivals of foreign flag vessels. The ships, which were berthed included Norasia Noor, Beliz Urkmer, Kota Tegah, to unload and load containers, Steel Glory to offload fertilizer, Koriana to offload high speed diesel and Bum Ju to load molasses.
Sailing on the other hand were modest as three ships, Hyundai Sprinter, Norasia Noor and Top Success departed, while Al-Manakh, Beliz Urkmer, Koriana, and Mercs Kirinda are due to sail out on Sunday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side thanks to larger handling of the liquid tonnage, totalling 96,476 tons including 16,759 tons of export cargo and 79,717 tons of import tonnage.
The following ships are due on Sunday: Bonasia, with steel and general cargo, Nord Beach, Occl Harmony, with containers and Med Salvador, with 32,285 tons of steel coils.
The following ships are due on Monday: Shalamar, with 55,000 tons of crude oil, Orient Stride, PAC Aries, Dong He, Kota Wajar, with containers and Khairpur, with general cargo.

KARACHI, Dec 27: Two container ships were allotted berths at QICT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Saturday.
Berth occupancy remained on the higher side as six ships, Safmarine Prime, Ville-de-Mars, Novena, Aftokratira, Western Trader and Pearl of Fujayrah were busy in loading/unloading containers, edible oil, general cargo and iron ore.
A cargo volume of 53,468 tons comprising 40,276 tons of import cargo and 13,192 tons of export tonnage was handled.
Sailing activity remained slow as only one ship Ville-de-Mars departed, while Novena, Pearl of Fujayrah and Safmarine Prime were due to leave.
Two ships, Stolt Stream, with chemicals, and Doric Charriot, with coal, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
