KARACHI: Rally seeks killers arrest

KARACHI, Dec 24: A large number of people belonging to Ali Mohammad Mohalla, Lyari Town, on Wednesday staged a peaceful demonstration demanding immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the killing of Abdul Ghani Baloch, a prominent social figure.

Mr Baloch, a former official of the OGDC having considerable reputation in social circles of the city’s oldest settlement, was killed Sunday night in a shooting incident on Mauripur Road.

The demonstration was joined in also by MNA Nabil Gabol, Naib Nazim Malik Mohammad Awan, UC Nazims and councillors of Lyari Town and a large number of NGO activists. The demonstrators, who converged on Karachi Press Club from different parts of the Town, condemned the killing and criticized police for failing to arrest the killers.
