ISLAMABAD, Dec 24: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has initiated a research

study on simplification and promotion of laws and procedures for corporatization of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Designed to strengthen the existing legal and policy framework for SMEs, says a press release, the study will design a comprehensive strategy in collaboration with major stakeholders, reviewing legal and regulatory framework.

It would also develop a policy framework and propose a promotional scheme for corporatization of SMEs.

The study, in the conduct of which the Ministry of Industries and Production is collaborating with the SECP, is scheduled to be completed in four months.
