Lawyers from Balochistan on Thursday demanded the resignation of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti following the release of the Quetta Civil Hospital judicial inquiry report.

“The Quetta commission report has exposed the incompetence and negligence of the ministers, therefore, they have no moral justification to stay in power,” said Ghani Khilji, President of Balochistan High Court Bar Association.

He added that the reaction to the report was an effort to influence the apex court of the country.

"Instead of learning a lesson, the interior minister was criticising the report.”

On the occasion, the lawyers endorsed the commission report and vowed to raise their voice for the supremacy of law in the country.

On August 8, a suicide bomber targeted the emergency services ward at Quetta’s Civil Hospital, killing at least 74 people and leaving scores injured.

Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) splinter group, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA), had claimed responsibility for the bombing which occurred at the gates of the building housing the emergency ward.
