MITHI, Dec 18: Some growers of Tharparkar district have appealed to the government to take notice of non-implementation of land grant policy and illegal allotment of state land by the revenue officials.

Talking to journalists here on Thursday, Khair Mohammad, Abdul Raheem, Viso and other residents of Deh Bhakuo, Mithi taluka, said the revenue department officials had illegally allotted thousands of acres of the state land to influential people by making fake entries in the record.

They said Bhakuo and Islamkot Tapedars had sold a large area of the state land and pastures to influential people.

They said grazing areas in the district had alarmingly decreased, and the situation might cause famine in the desert region.

They said the revenue department officials had fixed unjustified rate for the disposal of state land in Mithi, Diplo, Chhachhro and Nagarparkar talukas.

They said aspirant growers were fleeced at the hands of revenue officials in the name of disposal of government land.

The district council, through a resolution, had demanded that the government should approve the land grant policy formulated by the council.

Meanwhile, director, human rights, and district session Judge, Tharparkar, has taken a notice of unlawful sale of the state land.

He urged the district Nazim for the befitting solution of the issue for the satisfaction of growers.

A villager, Khair Mohammad Chhachhar, had moved the director, human rights, through an application in this regard.
