KARACHI, Dec 18: Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side on Thursday as port agencies cleared the inward rush of incoming vessels, according to KPT sources.

As a result, seven ships, Norasia Bavaria, Orient Stride, Al-Mirqab and Hyundai Stride, to unload and load containers, Begae Bong to load rice, Durban Queen to load bitumen and Shalamar to offload crude oil were berthed after the departure of four.

The ships, which departed included Global Prosperity, APL Venezuela, Le Cong, and Koriana, while Swat, Durban Queen, Flora and Eax Sanctity are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 76,868 tons comprising 15,517 tons of export cargo including 845 tons of rice and 61,351 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Friday: Nord Beach, Wan Hai-302, with containers and Anjum, with steel cargo.
