DADU, Jan 1: A team of senior police officials has completed inquiry into the conflict between a landlord and his peasants over the alleged kidnapping of the former’s daughter and subsequent torturing of the haris including women by the armed men in village Gul Mohammad Chandio of taluka Khairpur Nathan Shah.

The probe report submitted to SSP Dadu, Mushtaque Ahmed, said that around 10 days ago, landlord Abu Talib Chandio’s daughter, Sanam, 18, went to Sehwan from where she escaped with her lover, Gul Sher Chandio.

Her father tried to get her back through negotiations with Gulsher’s family but could not succeed.

Thereafter he went to Kakar police post and lodged an FIR against Gul Sher and six others under section 116 ZHO, 148, 149, 109 PPC.

The inquiry report added that the complainant party then went to the houses of the accused persons and issued threats of dire consequences to get back the girl.

Both sides exchanged hot words with each other which was followed by a quarrel but nobody was made to dance stripped, no one was injured and no pregnant woman lost her unborn child, concluded the report.

SSP Dadu has submitted this report to DIG police Hyderabad on Tuesday.

ASSAULT: A youth, Karim Bux Chandio, 20, was assaulted by two armed men, Bakht Ali and Ali Gohar Chandio, in village Aliwal of taluka Khairpur Nathan Shah on Tuesday.

Faridabad police on the complaint of Karim Bux registered an FIR against both the accused.
