Entries invited for journalism award

ISLAMABAD, Dec 17: Entries have been invited for second annual ‘Gender in Journalism Awards 2004’ for two print media journalists instituted by Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) with support of United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization (Unesco).

News, columns, articles and features published in Pakistani publications between January 1, 2003, and December 31, 2003, are eligible for the Rs25,000 award. Last date for receipt of entries is January 31, 2004. The awards will be announced on March 8, 2004.

One award will be for excellence in gender sensitive reporting and open to both male and female journalists. The second will go to a female journalist for outstanding coverage of any issue.

Journalists and writers may nominate their own work. Editors and others are encouraged to nominate writings they feel promote objectives of the awards. —PPI
