THATTA, Dec 17: The district government has recommended Dr Mohammad Ali Manjhi for the Pride of Performance award.

Dr Manjhi has done PhD on “Sufi Shah Inayat Shaheed and his disciple poets” from the Karachi University.

The research provided knowledge about the struggle of Shah Inayat and his 132 disciple poets. The thesis also contained a detailed history of sufism in Sindh.

Author of two books on Sindhi poetry and 50 published research papers, Dr Manjhi’s work has been acclaimed by various critics.

Three convicted: The first additional sessions judge on Wednesday awarded life imprisonment to Usman, Khan Mohammad and Ali Ahmed Thahim for killing Hamid Kerano and injuring four others near Daro town some three years back.
