Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leaders on Thursday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan failed to provide any evidence in the Panama Papers case before the Supreme Court.

Addressing a press conference, Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan urged Imran Khan to give up politics of baseless allegations and present proofs in the court.

Dastgir said that Imran Khan's moves were a hindrance in the path of progress and development of the country.

“China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project was delayed for eight month due to the sit-ins of PTI”, he added.

The minister added that the government had succeeded in bringing the country out of the energy crisis and terrorism and it also helped strengthening the country's economy, which was now being admitted by the world's leading economic institutions.

Khurram said the PTI's allegation against the PML-N could not stop the government from moving forward and developing the country.

He said PTI had told a number of 'lies' to the nation regarding corruption, money laundering and writing off loans from the banks but it could not present any evidence in court.

The minister added that lawyers of Imran Khan were now "taking now U-turns in the case and one of the PTI lawyers had withdrawn himself from pleading the case due to weak evidence".

'Imran Khan misleading people'

Adviser to the Prime Minister Engineer Amir Muqam said that the Panama Papers is an empty box that was used by Imran Khan to mislead people and acquire 'cheap fame'.

The adviser said that Imran Khan was was projecting Panama Papers to achieve political objectives.

"Rather than diverting energies to resolve problems of people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Imram Khan has wasted time by arranging useless sit-ins."

He added that Imran Khan should decide his priorities and work for the well being and betterment of the people.
