Rally against hike in college fee

OKARA, Jan 1: Students of the local degree college held a protest procession against hike of tuition fee.

Led by MSF, PSF and other organizations, the students took out a protest rally under the leadership of Saleem Shahi Noonari and others and demanded that the increase in tuition fee be withdrawn.

According to them, the government had increased fee by Rs 1,200 per annum in compulsory subjects and Rs 300 per annum in other subjects.

The students also chanted slogans against India for hurling war threats.

MURDERED: A man and his son were shot dead over old enmity in Dhuliana village near Hujra Shah Muqeem on Monday night.

According to reports reaching here, Baqir Ali Jaat had an enmity with proclaimed offender Amin alias Munni wanted by police in a number of cases. At night, Munni and his accomplices entered Baqir’s house and opened fire, killing him and his son Abdul Sattar. Hujra Shah Muqeem police have registered the case.

Another man was shot dead in rivalry in Chah Jandowala village, also near Hujra Shah Muqeem.

Muhammad Siddique along with his brother Muhammad Farooq was returning home when Muhammad Akram and his accomplice shot at them. Siddique died on the spot.
