KARACHI, Dec 17: Seven ships carrying soyabean meal and vehicles are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where five ships, Global Prosperity, Ramitha, APL Venezuela and Eax Sanctity to unload and load containers and Swat to offload crude oil were berthed after the departure of as many.

The ships, which departed included Kota Waris, Ramitha, Bunga Bidara, Banglar Mamata and Yuki Kazi, while Makam and Swat are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity rose to 0.108m tons owing to larger handling of the liquid tonnage. The export cargo totalled 20,459 tons, while import cargo including 50,000 tons of oil rose to 87,376 tons.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Australia Bridge, Perth, Nord Beach, with containers, Sondos, with 317 vehicles, Anjum, with steel cargo, Badulu Valley, with soyabean meal and Banga Barta, with 4,755 tons of raw jute.
