RAWALPINDI, Dec 16: The Falcons Basketball Academy, the first of its kind in the country, is due to open in the first week of the New Year.

A brainchild of S. Saeedul Hasan, the head of the Falcons Basketball Club, the academy will provide top class training and coaching facilities to young players.

“The Falcons Club has completed 20 years of existence and we wanted to give something back to this beautiful sport,” Saeed said.

The FBA is located at the FG Cantt Public School, Mehfooz Road in Rawalpindi. Muhammad Yousaf Afridi has been named the camp commandant and referee while Imran Bashir will be the head coach. The academy will also have a fitness trainer in Shahidul Hasan.

The trio along with Saeed are among the pioneers of Falcons Club that was established in 1983.
