KARACHI: Muttahida man shot dead

KARACHI, Dec 16: An activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was shot dead on Monday night in North Karachi.

Police said the body of Mohammad Habib, 35, was found outside a house in sector 5 C-3 North Karachi at around 2am.

The victim had suffered multiple bullet wounds. His body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was identified as Mohammad Habib, a Muttahida activist. He was a member of the Liaquatabad sector committee. The victim had got married on December 5.

Police lodged an FIR 257/2003 against unknown suspects. The hospital sources said the victim had suffered at least eight klashnikov bullets.

KILLED: A middle-aged woman was stabbed to death in Baldia Town on Tuesday.

Police said that Shamim, 40, was stabbed to death by her husband’s nephew, Mohammad Rafiq, in Junaghar. The victim was alone in the house at the time of the incident.

The suspect escaped from the spot following the attack. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for autopsy. Police suspected some domestic dispute to be the motive behind the killing.
