The following is an excerpt from documents submitted to the Supreme Court by the children of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for the Panamagate hearing. The assertions made in these extracts are solely the view of the respondents. Dawn.com does not endorse or confirm the claims made in the case file. A document submitted by the children of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif contains the respondent's version of how flats in Avenfield House, Park Lane London were acquired.
In brief:
Flats in Park Lane were purchased by the Al-Thani family
Ownership was secured through Nielsen Enterprises Limited and Nescoll Limited
- Al-Thani family allowed Late Mian Muhammad Sharif and family to use flats
- Since 2006, the flats are owned by Hussain Nawaz
Read verbatim extracts from the PML-N case file below:
"Flats no.16, 16a and 17a, Avenfield House, Park Lane, London (the "properties") were purchased by the Al-Thani family and their ownership was secured through two companies, namely Nielsen Enterprises Limited and Nescoll Limited (the "Entities"), the bearer share certificates of which were kept by the Al-Thani family in Qatar.
On account of the longstanding business and personal relations of the Al-Thani family with Late Mian Muhammad Sharif, Al-Thani family allowed Late Mian Muhammad Sharif and his family to use the Properties whilst bearing all expenses relating to the Properties including the ground rent and service charges.
That, after his exile from Pakistan on 10th December 2000, Late Mian Muhammad Sharif advised Al-Thani family that the said investment, together with its cumulative return, would be for the benefit of his eldest grandson, i.e. respondent No. 7 [Hussain Nawaz].
That ultimately in the year 2006, the account between Al-Thani family and respondent No.7 was settled through which the Properties were transferred by delivery of the bearer shares of the Entities to nominee of Respondent No.7.
That respondent No.6 is a trustee for the benefit of respondent no.7 in pursuance of a Trust Deed of 2006, which has been executed between Respondent No.6 [Maryam Nawaz] and Respondent No. 7.
That since the year 2006, the Properties are owned by Respondent No.7."

When Nawaz stood on the floor of the National Assembly to explain matters he never mentioned the Al-Thani family even once....... this looks like an afterthought and does not appear credible.

to be quite frank, who cares. These are millionaires, properties in London is no big deal for them. And all millionaires (with some minor exceptions) buy through an offshore entity because you save loads of money on stamp duty. Hardly anyone around the world declares it, the whole purpose is to be anonymous. I wish I was a millionaire and could do the same. Or I wish I had done the same already with my properties.

The flats were loaned to Sharif family how the running of the flats were financed and from money came. The documentary evidence of the final transfer of the properties to Sharif and the monies involved in transfer must also be provided.

The reason why Sharif family never named before could be that Qatri Royal Family didn't wanted to be dragged in this controversy. They are normally secretive. It is what you want to believe. However, if we look at Al-Thani family, they had a lot of properties in London bought through offshore companies and many have been named in Panama leaks. It is not illegal to own a offshore company. IK also had an undeclared offshore company.

I have analysed the wording of PM'statement on the floor of NA. He did not mention any company or individual from whom the London property was purchased? We never asked who did you pay the money to acquire the property or who was the owner etc
It could be anybody. Now the family has disclosed the name that it is the "Qatari Prince" who they bought it from.What is wrong there?? Please be positive..rethink the wording. I don't see anything wrong there. it is a clear statement in my opinion.

All lies to hide truth. Looking at facts, Qatar did not have any meaningful real estate activities in 1980, when it has been claimed that late Mian Shareef invested Dh. 12 million through Al-Thani family in Qatari real estate business. At that time Doha, capital of Qatar, had mostly mud-houses. Even Dubai real estate activity started in year 2000 & onward, while Qatar followed Dubai model much later. It has also been reported that Gulf Steel, the claimed steel mills in Dubai which provided source of funds for Sharifs investment in Qatar, had in fact gone bankrupt.

Only time gaining stragedy , and PML(N) now has sufficient time in hand to pass a bill at NA,ofcourse with help of old trusted friend of PPP,such bill will prohibit all courts to admit cases against PM and his family,the immunity President already enjoys.People have not forgotten the immunity availed by former President Asif Ali Zardari in Swiss Case. The most talk two words in Pak are ' corruptions ' and 'immunities'also one more word 'plea bargain' but that struck off by SC recently.

He did not reveal his/or family members' personal business interests (incl. with foreign leaders), while presenting himself in elections and during his tenure as CM and PM. Is it an absolute requirement or not?

In UK properties are bought & sold through solicitors. The sellers solicitors should have record of buyers method of payment etc. If the payment was made by Qatris or Swiss company that owned Neilson &Nescoll will prove the truth. NABs records show how money was sent abroad by Mr DAR with accounts & payments details they also have proofs of payment transferred to Swiss company. Any investigation needs to link payment made to the sourse.
Dubai Steel implicates Shahbaz as he is shown as owner. As none of the Sharifs has declare overseas assets on their tax returns Law has to assume that wealth is accumulated by hanky panky. Now we will have to see if SC is going to go by law

In Summary;
1. Maryam is dependent on Mian Saab, who receives income from Hussain and Hasan, who have entrusted their assets & companies to Maryam.
2. Everyone in Sharif household is rich, dependent on someone else, and personally owns nothing.
3. No one in the Sharif family ever took a Rupee out of Pak, but somehow ended up with lots of dollars, apts & companies outside Pakistan

Hello Pakistani, please petition SC to put all who presented fake and fraud documents to SC in any case especially in Sharif family case, be sentenced to 7 years with no bail at all, this punishment was confirmed in SC by Deputy AG when SC Justice asked him on Qatari Letter.

"Nielsen Enterprises Limited and Nescoll Limited " are fake enterprises created through a Panamanian location to hide the ownership and flow of capitol that was used to buy the properties. Many other similar registration were used by others to hide laundered money.
