Robbers have a field day

LAHORE, Dec 15: Robbers and thieves on Monday struck nine times and made off with cash, gold, prize bonds and vehicles worth over Rs2.5 million.

Four gunmen barged into the house of Hanif in Gulberg-III and held up inmates. The intruders collected cash, prize bonds, jewellery and electronic items worth Rs1.5 million and escaped.

A brick kiln cashier, Mian Afzal, informed police that he made recoveries worth Rs330,000 and was on his way to his office when two armed men held him up. The miscreants snatched the money and two cell phones from him and escaped.

Three armed robbers burst into a plastic factory of Naseer Ahmad in Shafiqabad, held the staff hostage, scooped cash and valuables worth Rs90,000 and beat a retreat.

Rasheed Ahmad of South Cantonment together with his family had gone to visit some relatives and on return found that cash and ornaments valuing Rs200,000 had been stolen.

A new motorcycle and another (STJ-8837) were lifted from Sattukatla and two more motorcycles (LOX-2196 and LXO-1949) were stolen from Mughalpura and Gulberg.

Similarly, a car (LRR-1819) was driven away from Allama Iqbal Town.
