PESHAWAR, Dec 15: Former provincial minister Ayub Afridi has announced that he would contst elections for the provincial presidentship of the PML-Q.

Speaking at a news conference held here on Monday, he also accused the acting provincial president of the party, Agha Syed Ali Shah, of distorting the image of the party.

“Syed Ali Shah should take along all the party workers to stabilize the PML-Q, but his policies have harmed the party,” he alleged and added that Mr Shah became the mayor of the city because of his support for Gen Fazal Haq.

Then, he joined the PML-(N and became provincial minister and at present was in the PML-Q, said the former minister said.

Mr Afridi said that he wanted the party to get stable and united in the province and he was ready to hold talks with Mr Shah.
