MIRPURKHAS, Dec 15: Wapda authorities had decided to reduce line losses in the Hesco by checking power connections of the Hesco employees through the FIA, sources said.
The decision was taken after the Wapda authorities received reports that power connections of the Hesco employees were causing line losses.
Reliable sources told this correspondent here on Sunday that most of the Hesco employees were consuming power above their prescribed limit.
Due to pressure mounted by the Hesco workers union, the company officers avoided to take any action against power connections of the Hesco employees, they said.
Sources said that the Wapda chairman had directed the Federal Investigation Authority to check power connections of the Hesco employees without any discrimination.
The Hesco chief executive has directed the executive engineers to provide power consumption record of the Hesco employees to the FIA so that their power connections could be checked.
There are two colonies of the Hesco employees in Mirpurkhas, old power house and scheme-2. There was an outstanding dues of Rs 1.2 million against the Hesco employees.
HEPATITIS: Out of twenty under trial prisoners infected with Hepatitis B at district prison Mirpurkhas, 15 have been shifted to central jail Hyderabad amidst strict security arrangements. During the test of over two hundreds prisoners in the district prison , about 20 inmates were found carrier of hepatitis B disease. Their liver function test was arranged by the EDO health, Mirpurkhas, Captain Dr Fazal Illahi Yousfani.
SUICIDE: A married girl committed suicide by hanging herself with rope in village Yar Muhammad Janjhi, near Old Mirpur on the other day.
Reports said that Ms Kosheela, 16, wife of Tikamdas hanged herself with rope over domestic affairs. Her body was brought at civil hospital Mirpurkhas for autopsy.
KILLED: A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident late on Saturday night near village Diyal in taluka Kot Ghulam Muhammad. Basheer Khan, 60, was on his way along with his son when his bike collided with a donkey cart. As result of which Basheer Khan sustained serious head injuries, he died on his way to hospital.
Executive district officer health, Mirpurkhas, has order inquiry to ascertain the causes of death of brother of Naib Nazim UC Umerkot. He reportedly had died during operation.
DEMO: Hundreds of people, from different villages of Khokhrapar area held a demonstration near Chore on Saturday to protest opposition to reopening of the Khokhrapar border.
