KARACHI, Dec 14: A joint meeting of all town Naib Nazims and councillors of Karachi have demanded issuance of notification for fixation of honorarium for them.

The meeting, presided over by Naib Nazim, Gulshan Town, Saleem Azhar, and held at Civic Centre on Saturday, urged President Musharraf to notice that they had been working for 28 months, but their problems had been neglected by the government.

“We are working day and night to redress public grievances, with the result that our own businesses and sources of livelihood have been severely affected,” they said, and demanded fixation of honorariums for Naib town Nazims, Naib UC Nazims and councillors, proportionate to the honorariums fixed for the city Nazim, the Naib city Nazim and town Nazims.
