ISLAMABAD, Dec 13: Indonesian President Megawati Sukarnoputri will arrive here on Sunday on a three-day visit to the country, during which an anti-terrorism pact is likely to be signed between the two countries.

She was scheduled to hold talks with President Gen Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, said an official announcement on Saturday.

She will be accompanied by her spouse Toufiq Kiemas, Foreign Affairs Minister N. Hassan Wirajuda, Industry and Trade Minister Rini M.S. Suwandi, State Minister for Revenues and State Companies Laksamana Sukardi, parliamentarians and officials.

A spokesman said the visit would help develop the two countries’ multidimensional partnership.

Indonesia heads the Association of South East Asian Nations.

#Reuters adds:# Indonesia and Pakistan were expected to sign an anti-terrorism pact during the visit, an official said on Saturday.

Foreign ministry spokesman Masood Khan said consultations were under way on a memorandum of understanding on coordinating efforts to fight terrorism and drug-trafficking. He said it was likely to be signed during the visit.

He said Ms Sukarnoputri and President Musharraf Prime Minister Jamali would also discuss prospects of enhancing economic cooperation.

“We are trying to craft a comprehensive economic partnership between the two countries,” he said.
