LARKANA: An FIR was registered on Tuesday against Minister for Agriculture Suhail Anwar Siyal, his brother Tarique Anwar Siyal aka Zaffar Siyal, Bakrani taluka municipal administration accounts officer Ahsan Ali Siyal and six other unknown suspects after the Sindh High Court’s Larkana circuit bench gave the SSP concerned one hour to get the suspects booked at the Allahabad police station in compliance with its Oct 25 order.

The bench comprising Justice Zaffar Ahmed Rajput and Justice Muhammed Iqbal Kalhoro was seized with a contempt plea filed by Ashique Hussain Memon, a school teacher, who in his original petition had complained that Ahsan Ali Siyal and his six associates on the instigation of Suhail Anwar Siyal and Tarique Anwar Siyal attacked his guests room, tried to kidnap his son, Atif Hussain, and on resistance injured him [petitioner] and his son, as well as another son, Waheed Ali on Feb 23.

The petitioner had also claimed that the attackers resorted to firing at his house and created terror and harassment. He added that the suspects issued death threats to him.

During the Oct 25 hearing of the petition, the bench had ordered Larkana SSP Kamran Nawaz Panjotha to get an FIR registered against the suspects at the Allahabad police station. Notices were also issued to other respondents.

However, the order was not complied with and a contempt application was filed with the same bench, which had fixed the hearing for Nov 8. The SSP did not appear before the bench and, instead, PDSP Bashir Ahmed Abro, attended the hearing on his behalf. The SHO concerned, who was transferred overnight, also did not appear in court. SHO Meran Khan Durrani of the Market police station appeared before the bench and informed it that he had been given the additional charge of the Allahabad police station only last night. He requested time to comply with the court’s Oct 23 order.

However, the bench turned down his request. SHO Durrani also failed to produce before the bench the order pertaining to his additional charge.

Advocate Athar Abbas Solangi represented the alleged contemnor.

The bench asked the PDSP to convey to the SSP concerned the order to appear before it within one hour or comply with the Oct 25 order else the court would issue its order [on the contempt plea].

A little later, ASI Zubair Ahmed Shaikh registered the FIR (132/2016) at the Allahabad police station as was lodged by petitioner Ashique Hussain Memon, a resident of Madbaho village presently residing in Khalique Colony on Airport Road.

Suhail Siyal and Tarique Siyal have been shown as abettors in the FIR.
