SUKKUR, Dec 12: Eighteen people, including the main accused in Ameer Bux Brohi murder case, were arrested by the Shikarpur police on Friday.

The police team raided Brohi colony, Railway Station colony and Sadder Mohalla to arrest the main accused Shahnawaz Brohi and his son Zulfiqar Brohi.

During extensive search in these localities the police picked up at least 18 persons, including the main accused Shahnawaz Brohi and his lawyer Shahbaz Brohi.

The police also recovered weapons and narcotics from the arrested persons.

The DPO told the newsmen that when the police team entered the Brohi colony the inmates opened fire which was returned by the raiding team.

An exchange of fire lasted for about half an hour, after which all the persons were arrested, he said.

All the arrested persons were kept at the New Faujdari police station.

The police refused to disclose names of other arrested persons.

Exams schedule: The practical examination of H.S.C. part-II supplementary examination-2003 in the subjects of physics, chemistry, biology, library science and geography will commence from Dec 18 at various examination centres of Sukkur, Khairpur, Ghotki and Naushahroferoze districts.
