ISLAMABAD, Dec 11: A National Golf Tournament, sponsored by Pakistan Tobacco Company (PTC) is set to tee off at the Islamabad Club on Friday, organisers said.

Leading amateur as well as professional golfers will be on show during the two-day championship to be contested over 36 holes.

The main event will be followed by a hole-in-one competition on the third day for which a prize money of Rs 1.5 million has been put up by the organisers. The money will be donated to a designated charity.

A number of other prizes are also being offered including the ones for maximum birdies and longest drive.

The competition for hole-in-one will be between top four golfers who will hit closest to pin in the main championship, a selection to be done through calculation of distance of all shots landing near hole No 5.

About 150 golfers drawn from across the country will take part in the championship that will also feature a competition for women.
