RAWALPINDI, Dec 11: The additional district and sessions judge, Sanaullah Malik, on Thursday asked the senior superintendent of police (SSP), Moravat Ali Shah, to arrest four officials of Westridge police station and register an FIR against them for illegally detaining a man and thrashing him.

The judge asked the SSP to produce the copy of the FIR in the court on Friday and arrest the station house officer (SHO), Mohammad Afzal, sub-inspector (SI), Mohammad Jehangir and constables, Sahawat Hussain and Mohammad Aslam.

The court took the move after receiving a plea from a person, Rafaqat Shah, in which he had contended that his brother, Wajahat Shah, was illegally detained and thrashed by the four officials.

The court sent Wajahat for a medical examination in which it was confirmed that he had been severely beaten.
