HYDERABAD, Dec 11: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali will be the chief guest at the inaugural session of a three-day conference of the Association of Pakistani Physicians of North America, scheduled to be held at the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, on Dec 19.

Mr Jamali will also be the chief guest at the third LUMHS symposium being held the same day.

This was said by LUMHS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Jan Mohammad Memon in a statement issued on Wednesday.

Prof Memon said Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad had also confirmed to be the chief guest at the closing session of the two conferences on Dec 21.

He said prior to the conference, there would be workshops in various disciplines on Dec 18.

More than 1,000 delegates, including 50 delegates from the US and the UK, would participate in the moot.

On the last day, the vice-chancellor will chair a special session to finale rules and regulations for postgraduate diploma and degree courses being conducted at the country’s universities.

The proposed draft in this regard will be submitted to the governor at the closing session.

Prof Memon further said a biennial cardiology conference was also being held from Dec 12 to 14 at the university which would be attended by 700 delegates, including those from Saarc countries.

This moot will be followed by another three-day national pathology conference on Dec 28 which would be chaired by Higher Education Commission chairman Prof Attaur Rehman.

Higher Education Commission member Dr A. Q. Mughal will preside over a national plastic surgery conference on Jan 8.
