SUKKUR: Fifteen people were injured in a clash between two groups belonging to the Kharani community of Jacobabad in Phool Bagh Muhalla on Tuesday, according to the officials at the Civil Lines police station.

They said the rival groups had already been at odds over a matrimonial matter for some time and on Tuesday their men and women attack each other with clubs, rocks, iron rods and other things.

During the half-an-hour clash, 15 people from both sides were injured and taken to the Jacobabad Civil Hospital for treatment.

Other residents of the locality intervened to stop the fighting before police reached the area and took the situation under control.

The police later picked up and detained three members of the community for interrogation. No FIR was registered till late in the evening.
