PML-N to resist LFO, says Maimoona

FAISALABAD, Dec 9: The PML-N will not accept the Legal Framework Order at any cost and put up a resistance along with the PPP (Parliamentarians) if the same is presented in parliament.

This was stated by MNA Maimoona Hashmi, the daughter of PML-N acting chief Javed Hashmi, at a news conference here on Tuesday. She was accompanied by MNAs Raja Nadir Pervaiz and Rana Asif Tauseef.

Ms Maimoona said the political victimization, illegal arrests, registration of concocted cases and raids on the houses of PML-N leaders and activists had become an order of the day which was a proof that the military regime was sensing a danger from this party.

She said a ‘dummy parliament’ was introduced by army generals just to prolong their rule in the country which had not only been rejected by the national political leaders and lawyers, but also by international organizations like the European Union and the Common Wealth.

She claimed her father was being treated as a criminal in the jail and no medical facility was being provided to him. She said the arrest of PML-N leaders in Ramazan and on Eidul Fitr had exposed the true face of the government.

The PML-N leader alleged the government had failed on all fronts especially on foreign matters. “The parliament is being run through a dummy speaker which can be judged from the fact that he was kept in dark about the arrest of Javed Hashmi from the Federal Lodges,” she said.

She criticized the army role in political affairs, adding it had toppled four elected governments during the previous 56 years instead of achieving a single goal on international boundaries.

Ms Maimoona also criticized the statement of a general in which he had declared that he did not work hard during his 38-year army service as compared to the work he had done for the promotion of cricket during the last four years.

She said the PML-N would continue its struggle for the revival of constitution and the restoration of democracy despite the arrest of party leaders and a mudslinging campaign launched by the government against them.

MNA Raja Nadir Pervaiz alleged the worst type of torture was being meted out to Javed Hashmi in the jail.

Answering a question about any deal over the LFO issue, both the PML-N leaders said their party would give a tough time to the rulers in the parliament.
