SIALKOT: The district education authorities have found out 147 ‘ghost’ teachers in several schools of Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils.

District Monitoring Officer Muhammad Amir Raza said these teachers had been deputed against different posts at government schools and they had been getting their salaries without actually taking classes.

He said 47 ghost teachers had been terminated while the remaining would be shown the door soon.

He said stern action would be taken against the facilitators of ghost teachers.
