KARAK: The district chapter of Private Educational Institutions Association rejected the proposed board examinations for 5th grade students, saying government gave no importance to the viewpoint of the stakeholders in that regard. Addressing a meeting of the association here Tuesday, National Education Council chairman Nazar Hussain and PEIA district president Abdul Jalil said that the decision was not practicable.

They alleged that the government did not bother to hear the viewpoints of the stakeholders. They said that the new policy of the government would have negatives impacts on private educational institutions. The speakers said that government should first bring transparency in examination system for 9th and 10th grades to restore trust of parents and students in the educational institutions.

They said that examination system should be made corruption-free to save the future of students.

STUDENTS: The students of the lone government degree college in Banda Daud Shah tehsil have demanded provision of drinking water and transport facility.

The demands were made in a meeting of students held at the college here on Tuesday with Azam Khan in the chair. The students said that the college was established 15 years ago but it was short of basic facilities.

The participants of the meeting said that time of students was wasted owing to shortage of staff in the college. They said that they brought bottles of water from their homes as drinking water was not available in the college.

The students also complained that excessive power loadshedding was badly affecting their studies. They demanded of the government to resolve their problems and provide basic facilities to the college without further delay. They said that government should give a fixed share in the gas royalty funds to the educational institutions of the district to resolve the problems of the institutions and students.
