HYDERABAD, Dec 5: The president, Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, Maulana Shah Ahmed Noorani, has strongly opposed the government’s initiatives of curbing collection of donations for Jihad.

He said this while delivering his Friday sermon at the Madina Mosque, Seroghat, and also while speaking at a luncheon in Phulelli.

Supporting the Jihad in the world, he said that our Holy Prophet (PBUH) had led 27 battles against non-believers.

Referring to Jihadi activities, Mr Noorani said that on the instance of the US people were being asked not to collect donations notwithstanding the fact that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) had done the same at the time of the battle of Tabook and in all other battles.

He made it clear that India could not be trusted as it was our enemy and there was no need for the president or prime minister to tell us who our enemy was.

He said that the Holy Quran defines our enemies and friends very clearly in 42 verses.

He said, “Islam and Azaan will continue until the Doomsday.”

Mr Noorani said that the habits of extorting and terrorizing people in order to become millionaires overnight would take time to end.

He claimed that Karachi and Hyderabad were once again gradually becoming citadels of peace.

He further said that enough time was required for restoring the old glory of these two cities.

Underscoring the need of ridding the country of extortion, Mr Noorani said that the MMA comprised religious parties of all sects which had earlier been working under the

banner of the Milli Yakjaheti Council in the past.

He stated that the MMA would keep playing its due role.

He criticized Zionists and Christians for portraying Muslims as fundamentalists and terrorists with the result that even Muslims had started introducing themselves as liberal and modern Muslims on the instance of the US. “We do not need to ask from the president or prime minister as to what our religion is.”

He said that those who were claiming themselves to be liberal Muslims were in fact “related to the US,” whereas those who considered themselves to be true believers had their connections with Madina Munawara.

Mr Noorani said, “All this is being done to appease the US.”

He said that the people of this century would witness Afghanistan and Iraq turning into graveyards for the US.
