QUETTA: Mirza Sham-shad, a member of the central council of the PML-N, has submitted an application to the police, seeking registration of an FIR against Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain for his controversial speech that led to the attack on some media houses in Karachi.

A large number of PML-N workers were present at the police station when the application was handed over to the station house officer on Wednesday.

Mr Hussain allegedly used abusive and derogatory language against the country and the army in his speech and incited his party workers to the attack on the media houses.

The applicant sought the registration of the FIR under the Anti-Terrorism Act and Article 6 of the Constitution for treason.
