OKARA: City A-division police arrested seven people out of 18 of two rival groups for aerial firing on Thursday.

Fakhar Bhatti group appeared in a murder case in the sessions court and it was returning home when it came across its rival group, Billay Maar group, on MA Jinnah Road. Seeing each other, both the groups started aerial firing.

A police contingent rushed to the spot and surrounded the armed men of both groups.

The arrested suspects were identified as Muhammad Aslam, Farooq, and Ikram of Billay Maar group and Muhammad Alam, Safdar, Ibrahim and Farrukh of Fakhar Bhatti group.

About a year back, one Goga of the Billay Maar group was killed by Fakhar Bhatti group and police had registered a case under sections of Pakistan Penal Code and Anti-Terrorism Act against Shaukat, Ejaz, Shahadat Ali and Saadi.

BODY FOUND: Satghara police found the body of an unidentified woman from the fields of Chak 26/2-L and shifted the body to the DHQ Hospital for postmortem.
