KARACHI, Dec 3: Ziaul Islam, Joint Secretary in the ministry of interior arrested by NAB in Rawalpindi on Monday, was brought to Karachi on Wednesday.

He is facing charges of corruption, corrupt practices and accumulation of assets beyond his legitimate sources of income.

The accused was remanded in judicial custody by an accountability court and, according to the NAB, a case against him would be filed in due course of time.

Meanwhile, the NAB has arrested Rana Mazhar Ali, a principal appraiser, and Mohammad Zubair, a UDC posted at the Collectorate of Appraisement, Customs House, Karachi, on charges of corruption.

Both the accused were produced before an accountability court which granted their transit remand up to Dec 8 for shifting them to NAB (NWFP). —APP
