SWABI: Two people were killed and two others injured in wall collapse incidents as a windstorm hit the district late on Sunday night.

Wife of Mufariq Shah was killed when boundary wall of their house collapsed in Tordher village of Chota Lahor tehsil. Local residents retrieved her body from debris.

Osama Khan, a ninth grader, was killed in Yar Hussain when he was buried alive under the debris of a collapsed wall. Awais Khan and wife of Zafar Khan got injuries in a similar incident.

Electricity supply was disrupted to parts of the district, while trees and signboards were uprooted due to the storm, which also damaged standing maize crop. Peshawar Electric Supply Company workers remained busy throughout the day on Monday to restore power supply.
