48 appointment orders cancelled

MINGORA, Dec 2: The Nazim of Swat district, Asfandyar Amir Zeb, has cancelled all the 48 appointment orders of low grade employees in the education department and constituted a seven- member committee to probe the matter.

The order issued from the office of the district Nazim here on Tuesday revealed that no proper policy had been adopted while issuing the orders as required under the Manual of NWFP civil servants laws (procedure of selection for promotion/initial recruitment).

It was further added that the provincial government policy regarding accommodation of deceased/retired employees’ sons 25 per cent quota had not been followed. The land donors and their nominees had been totally ignored. The two per cent quota reserved for disabled persons had not been followed.

It was said that many other anomalies had also been reported and the district government was of firm belief that these appointments had been carried out to accommodate the nominees of the members of the provincial assembly (MPAs) and the criteria set forth for the recruitment had been bypassed.

The probe committee is comprising Buner Khan Nazim as chairman, Ahmad Khan, Mian Shahid Ali, Gul Mohammad Khan advocate, Fazal Mabood and Fazal Qadar, all Nazims and Faiz Mohammad Khan as members. The committee will submit its report within two weeks.
