Ban imposed on circus in Sukkur

SUKKUR, Dec 2: The district Naib Nazim, Sukkur, Iqbal Dawood Pakwala, has imposed a ban on organizing circus or Mela in a park or anywhere else in Sukkur city and has also cancelled all permissions earlier granted by the Taluka Nazim, Sukkur.

In this connection, a meeting, chaired by the Naib Nazim, was held on Tuesday, which was attended among others by the DCO, Sukkur.

It was decided in the meeting that in future no permission would be granted for such circuses or Melas.

Meanwhile, the DCO, Sukkur, Mohammad Mubeen Khan, has issued a notification stating that all the permissions granted for circuses or Melas in the city had been cancelled.

It may be recalled that a large number of political and social organizations had made several complaints regarding the organization of a vulgar Mela in the city.

PROTEST: Hundreds of hawkers launched a strong protest on Tuesday against the drive against them in which hundreds of handcarts were seized and several destroyed in Jacobabad city by the police on Tuesday.

The hawkers claimed that due to the drive by the police hundreds of them had become jobless as the police did not allow them to park their handcarts on roadsides and bazaars.
