PARIS, Dec 2: The Mona Lisa, which has left the walls of the Louvre only twice in recent history, to make its way to Washington and to Tokyo, may very well find itself soon in the smaller one-room museums of the French provinces or anywhere else French MPs decide the masterpieces should be sent.

That’s the sense of an amendment just voted by the French Senate which calls on the Louvre to henceforth more easily circulate its masterworks, Mona Lisa included, to the country’s local museums.
