QUETTA: Suspected militants killed Jamiat-i-Ulema-i-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) leader Mufti Ehtisham-ul-Haq and his son in Balochistan’s troubled Kech district on Sunday.

Levies sources said armed assailants opened fire at the former district chief of JUI-F and killed him on the spot along with his son. “Assailant drove away on their motorcycle after the attack,” security sources said.

The incident was reported from Tump tehsil area of the district.

Large number of people gathered at a nearby hospital where both the bodies were shifted to console with the family members.

There was, however, no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
