RAWALPINDI: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi (BISE) announced the top positions of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations on Tuesday.
A formal announcement of the overall results will be announced on Wednesday at the Government Post Graduate College, Asghar Mall, by the the Punjab minister for labour and manpower, Raja Ashfaq Sarwar.
A student from the Chakwal Cadet College secured first position while the second position was shared by a girl from Attock and a student from Attock Cadet College. The third position was also shared by a student from Rawalpindi city and another student from Attock Cadet College.
According to the results, 71.4pc of the candidates passed the examinations. A total of 121,981 candidates – 66,650 boys and 55,331 girls – appeared in the examinations, of which 87,024 students passed.
A total of 86,831 candidates were regular students at government educational institutions, while 35,150 appeared as private students. The pass percentage for girls was 76.4pc and the pass percentage for boys was 67.1pc.
Saqib Javed from the Cadet College Choa Saidan Shah in Chakwal secured the overall first position with 1,070 marks. Seemabia Sahar and Saleem Alam secured second position with 1,069 marks in the science group. The overall third position was shared by Abu Bakar from Siddeeq Public School Satellite Town and Zaid Ali from the Cadet College Hassanabdal, as both received 1,068 marks.
Among girls in the general group, first position went to Hurrain Majid from Grammar Public High School for Girls Satellite Town with 995 marks, while Naimat Nimra from the same school got second position with 991 marks.
Among boys in the general group, Aafaq Kamal from the Government High School Pandori, Jhelum, secured first position. Seminary student Mohammad Bilal from Darul Uloom Pir Syed Ahmed Shah Hamdani Sialvi Fatehjang secured second position, and third position went to Anique Athar from Jamia Baitussalam, Saghar, Talagang.
